We're getting involved in local small business. This was taken at a recent Small Business Community Network session. http://www.snapkw.com/index.php?option=com_sngevents&id[]=131197 We often look into the world and go after the big deals, forgetting that sometimes those deals, even if not that big, might be right at our doorstep. We'd recommend you look around in the community where you have located your business and get involved. I recently heard a quote, that said something like: " The person who is most listened to and whose opinion is most sought after, is the person who gives the most of themselves freely and in community." So the lesson learned out of all this... Get involved your community needs you! |

We enjoyed the venue, the timeframe and the other exhibitors. This was a wonderful networking opportunity that allowed us to connect for the first time with business in the area.Thank you to the SBCN team for putting this on! ComPeters, Inc. has embarked on a new project and needs some feedback. We are building a new search engine and invite feedback. Tell us what you know about "K-means". This is what Wikipedia says:
In statistics and machine learning, k-means clustering is a method of cluster analysis which aims to partition n observations into k clusters in which each observation belongs to the cluster with the nearest mean. It is similar to the expectation-maximization algorithm for mixtures of Gaussians in that they both attempt to find the centers of natural clusters in the data. Have you seen K-means in action? What experience have you had with it? let us know. Register and post a comment! |

UtiLocate Dispatch's U2 software is really the best software for the Underground Locating Industry. Taking with a Utility representative today, we bandied the suggestion around, that all future tenders should have a requirement for the use of U2 and the U2 field drawing tool. After all what other software allows you to draw your locate request, fill out the form on the laptop and then simply print it out and hand to the excavator or home owner!
If you are interested in getting more information, give UtiLocate a call and get a web demo setup! No commitment, no hassles, no traveling, no coffee to serve! www.utilocate.com
ComPeters, Inc. has been involved with a number of additional software projects some of which are in use in the utility industry.
UMS is our field data gathering tool, which was created to allow utilities to reduce the personpower overhead in the field that was required for handling field testing of poles, transformers and other utility plant. Ask us for a demo, we'll be happy to show you how this simple software can save you money.
OmniGrid is the Volvo of Outside Plant Systems, built together with a hydro distribution company we worked and built code in close conjunction with the utility to build this excellent system. Again, ask us for a demo, we'll be happy to show you what all the exitement is about!.

If you're green, you should check out the Canadian Earthday Site: http://www.earthday.ca/pub/index.php Earthday is April 22nd! You have an opportunity to make things better for the planet every day. Do you actually reduce your impact on the environment? For the most part, it’s pretty simple: reduce how much you consume and you will reduce how much you emit. |
