Basic Premise:
Many worthwhile charitable organizations struggle with the number of projects that need doing on one side and the lack of funds to do these projects on the other.
Many business people are concerned about their community, their church, their environment and those that surround them, simply because they are by nature involved.
Using web-technology we feel that there is an easy solution that can bring business people and charities together without the traditional time requirements needed to make good decisions. This site attempts to allow business people who have no time, but want to be involved the opportunity to make a difference for the charitable organization of their choice.
This site also allows business people who do have the time to support their charity with their personal time to do so.
If the business person has an idea that could make a new project then that project can be offered to participating charitable organizations. If an organization then accepts, it becomes one of the projects featured on the site.
Finally, if a business person wants to support this site that too can happen simply by passing out business cards available from the person who originally introduced the website.
The flow
Business People who are concerned about what is happening in their favorite charities, in their environment or in their churches are asked to visit the website, where they now have the choice of viewing the available projects and of getting involved… or not.
If the business person gets involved, then there is the choice of giving a onetime gift of funds to an existing project, of giving regularly to an existing project or of pledging to give to a potential or existing project. The other options the business person has are to give time to an existing project or alternatively to suggest a new project to participating charities. Finally there will be history pages showing previous projects and there will be pages that allow the business person to receive additional business cards for the site.
The projects
Projects are run by charitable organizations, so for every donation of funds a charitable receipt will be generated. Projects are designed to help those in need, to help where there are no other solutions and to make a difference for those without hope. Projects can involve people groups, communities, situations; they can be with religious organizations or local community charitable projects. All projects are reviewed, approved and run by the charitable organizations. Organizations posting projects are checked for current charitable status as well as for appropriateness.
A project must be defined with an amount required and duration.
As an example:
Refugio de Paz is a church group that has formed around a charismatic leader who is herself a refugee from Colombia. Her church consists of about 90% Colombian refugees. They are working hard to help new refugees find their way; how to connect with governmental services, how to find housing, food and other services. They are expanding their scope to include their francophone neighbors, their services are growing and they have an urgent need for a new sound system. They are currently using 2 second hand unpowered speakers, a second hand tape deck with small amplifier, a $20 microphone and are borrowing a laptop to play recorded music. This equipment is woefully inadequate for a space that holds 60 or more people during a service. They require a sound system that allows them to quickly disassemble the system and set up in the parking lot as they are looking to show free movies during the summer as well as use the equipment for community events.
The system recommended to them consists of 2 powered speakers, 3 powered monitors, a Behringer 24 channel mixer, a laptop, a projector, a screen (6’ x 8’), a keyboard, a digital drum set, acoustic guitar with pickup, assorted cables, microphones and stands. The total System cost is $13,600. This is a one-time project. A total of $2,300 has been received to date.
The Charities
Any legitimate charitable organization can be part of this website. Charitable organizations can be any organization with a charitable number; we prefer those charities, that are small community based charities, or larger charities that run with close community involvement.

with information about themselves and the projects they would like to post. A short review of the organization’s charitable status will be followed by an email requesting details of how the organization handles charitable receipting and instructions on how to post projects to the site.
